A New Place & Inspiration Strikes

With the start of the spring semester, I finally was able to move on campus. Leaving Virginia on my own was exciting and provided a much needed change of location. This change of location has sparked inspiration and the urge to be always taking pictures, which is something I had been missing. My process for taking photos is to usually just walk and see what interests me, so within my first few days I walked all over campus taking pictures and just taking in my new environment. Most photos were of the campus, not very much of an artistic purpose but photos nonetheless.

However, one night in the rain I went walking with a friend and inspiration struck. I had been meaning to attempt at night photography and this was my time! A favorite from the night, street lights, is one I am very proud of. I have also made the switch into editing in RAW, giving me more control over my photos, and I think I like it better.

I feel that this change in editing can be seen in comparison to my other works. In Virginia, I had mostly shot portraits but was trying to branch out around the time I left for Georgia. In child's drawing and yellow window you can see my attempts at this. This change in editing is exciting and I completely intend to continue portraits but Georgia has so much to offer me that I cannot limit myself. Being here has also inspired me to begin sharing all of my work, meaning I will probably be spamming my instagram with them but I think it should be fun. The creation of art is important, but also the sharing of it. Who knows, maybe my inspiration can inspire others.
